Questions about Rainbow Background Pokémon cards

How many cards are on the rainbow background list?

40 so far, from Mew in Southern Islands (2001) to the newest sets, and 7 of them are promos. They're all in the list above, rarest first.

What is the rarest Rainbow Background Pokémon card?

It's the Special Illustration Rare, like Parasol Lady from Paradox Rift (255/182).

What makes a card a rainbow background card?

A rainbow arcs across the sky in the artwork, somewhere behind the Pokémon. These are not Rainbow Rares: those are a rarity with a rainbow foil over the whole card, and they have their own list. Each card was picked by hand by looking at the art, so the list is a selection, not every card with a rainbow in it.

Who drew the most rainbow background cards?

Kagemaru Himeno, with 6 cards, followed by Kyoko Umemoto (3) and Sumiyoshi Kizuki (3).
